2011 tasmania challenge review

Jamie Whincup won the opening race of the Falken Tasmania Challenge, finishing 8.7 seconds ahead of teammate and championship rival Craig Lowndes. Starting from 10th, Toll Holden Racing Team's Garth Tander made ground in the early part of the race and capitalised on a tangle between FPR teammates Winterbottom and Davison to snatch the final podium spot.

Jamie Whincup then claimed another win, taking victory in Sunday’s 200km race. Despite some pressure from Will Davison, Whincup went on to greet the chequered flag by 1.7 seconds. Winterbottom rounded out the podium.
